Jeff & Cori started Sui Generis Law as a way to approach the law differently and uniquely: 1) to be able to develop a hands-on relationship with a client and help them along their journey; and 2) to empower their clients to accomplish their goals and dreams through creative solutions.
Jeff & Cori bring the expertise of years of in-depth, business and corporate experience to their clients; their critical and strategic thinking skills are invaluable in assessing a client’s needs. Jeff & Cori are particularly skilled in anticipating and mitigating the legal, regulatory and tax impacts of a client’s business decisions.
Jeff & Cori created Sui Generis Law using the “in-house” model. From their years of working as in-house counsel, they saw how efficient attorneys could be when they did not focus on billing hours– when they focused simply on getting the job done. So instead of one client paying one salary and getting one full-time lawyer… they broke it down into more easily accessible and affordable plans for the small to medium sized business… hence the umbrella plans.
Each umbrella plan covers different services, but each one has a set price… a price that is known and agreed to at the beginning so businesses can budget their legal costs. There is no more astonishment when the bill arrives… there are no surprises… in fact there are no bills after the fact… everything is laid on the table at the very beginning… fully transparent… so that both the client and the lawyers are all on the same page. Now it’s just a matter of deciding which umbrella plan fits your business best.

Cori received her undergraduate degree (in accounting) from LSU and her law degree from the University of Florida. After law school, Cori, too, stayed in Gainesville, Florida and served as the Assistant General Counsel for Infinite Energy, Inc. for 7 years. In that role, the majority of Cori’s energy and time was spent dealing with litigation. When joining with Jeff to create Sui Generis Law, Cori decided to take her litigation experience and shift the focus of her practice to resolving disputes instead of advocating for one side. Now Cori’s practice focuses solely on mediation and dispute resolution.
Cori is licensed to practice law in Florida, Georgia, and Texas. Additionally, she trained under Bobby Harges, Professor of Law at Loyola Law School in New Orleans, to become a family law mediator.
